Mahon

Born in 1973, originally from Strasbourg and from an Italo-Alsatian family, Mahon began doing graffiti at the age of 14. He started by painting on walls in the street, in the late 1980s, in complete illegality! His murals, filled with characters striking provocative, rebellious, or sacred poses that grab the attention of passersby, bear witness to the existence of a highly codified parallel universe.

Through his B-Boys and lettering, Mahon expresses his eye for detail, his passion for color and staging, as well as themes with more social dimensions. Since his early days in Strasbourg, Mahon has continually reinvented his surroundings or left his mark on them. Whether in Boston in 1996 or Dresden from 1998 onwards, he revived, in a new form, the historical exchange between these twin cities.

Locally, he has fostered a creative dynamic around him with the Macia Crew and initiated a movement that uses graffiti as a “tool for building,” through traveling workshops in community centers, schools, and even detention facilities. Self-taught, Mahon constantly experiments with new tools such as digital painting, animation, or vector-based art—without ever abandoning spray paint.
